Liberia (LIR, Daniel Oduber Quirós International) is about 45 minutes from the peninsula. Many U.S. cities have direct flights. San José (SJO) looks close on a map and is a five-hour drive; we don't recommend it. More on the Travel & Lodging page.

Bring a valid passport and proof of return or onward travel. U.S. citizens generally do not need a tourist visa; the immigration officer determines the permitted stay at entry, up to 180 days for travelers in the applicable country group. Review Costa Rica's current official entry requirements before you travel.

Always ride with a registered Costa Rican taxi driver. It is common for people at the airport to offer taxi service, but some are not legal drivers and may overcharge you. Official taxis are red with a yellow triangle on the roof, the driver's door, and the front passenger door. The triangle displays the taxi's official number. November is a transitional month in Costa Rica. The rainy, or green, season typically begins tapering off, and the dry season starts by late November. In Guanacaste, the dry season can begin as early as the first half of November.

Each event has its own dress code (Breezy & Botanical, Cocktail in Color, and Black Tie), spelled out with each event on the Itinerary. The short version: breathable fabrics, botanical prints, and heels that forgive grass.

No. Costa Rica accepts U.S. dollars as currency. You may receive change in Costa Rican colones, so plan to spend or exchange them before returning home. We also suggest letting your bank know that you will be traveling abroad so you can use your credit and debit cards without being flagged.

Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them. However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. Our photographer will have that covered!

Costa Rica observes Central Standard Time (CST) all year. There are no daylight saving time changes.

Outlets are the same as in the U.S., so no electrical adapters or converters are needed.

Google Maps and Waze work best in Costa Rica. Apple Maps does not work here.

Please confirm your available international plan with your phone provider, and be sure to download WhatsApp. It is the most common way to communicate with locals. As we get closer to the wedding, we will create a WhatsApp group for guests. It will be our main communication channel for timing, meeting points, and important updates.
